Annual Report - Flying Junior GER361 BlackBox

The Flying Junior is a two person regatta dinghy which is recognised as an international boat class by the German Sailing Federation. With a sail area of 9.7 m² by the wind, an 8 m² spinnaker and a hull weight of 75 kg, the FJ is in international use by sailors of all age groups.

The Flying Junior with the sail number GER 361 has a hull made of carbon, hence the name BlackBox, and a deck made of wood and is sailed by helmsman Moritz Langschädel and his crew mainly in , the and Belgium in ranking list regattas.

Thanks to the sponsorship of Siloxa AG, it was possible to equip the BlackBox with new material, making it a top performer that can compete with the other top teams in the class association once again.

The helmsman and the entire crew of the BlackBox would like to express their gratitude for the support they received during this season.

In the next season, the European Championship for the Flying Junior class will take place during the famous Travemünde Week. At this event, one of the races will take place on the SAP Media Race Course and can be followed live at the SAP Sail Cube on the beach in Travemünde as well as in the Internet. The BlackBox team will use the time leading up to the Travemünde Week to boost performance in order to achieve the best possible result at the European Championship in 2018.
