In addition to my volunteering with WE United and other -related non-profits, I work full-time at the University of Oregon as a Research Associate Professor and run a medium-sized boarding barn along with a small Andalusian breeding operation. I love the supportive WE community and appreciate the many friendships it has brought me worldwide.

BARBARA PRICE PAST PRESIDENT From Valley Center, California 2018 was a fabulous year for WE United and I had a lot of fun serving as President; meeting many new members and being involved in many great activities. I'm looking forward to working with our new President, Polly Limond, and our new board next year to keep the momentum growing! WE is such an amazing discipline for riders and their horses. I've got two in training now, and a little one in the wings :)

DONNA LUOMA SECRETARY From Oregon City, Oregon Hello everyone! I am so glad to be in this wonderful discipline with such amazing and dedicated people to share the fun with. I say 2019 is “Twenty- FINE-teen” and I am looking forward to connecting and riding and sharing the love for our horses! Besides the Secretary duties, I am coordinating the newsletter as well. So, as I type this, I have my fingers crossed that all the pics and bio pieces come out as I envision. When I am not volunteering, riding, or traveling to shows, I work as an RN during the day and have just started school for tattooing – with the final goal to be proficient in permanent makeup and reconstructive tattooing. Combining medicine with my love of art will be my next adventure. Why not? Life is supposed to be fun!

ERIN O'SHAUGHNESSY TREASURER From Vancouver, Washington Found Working Equitation in early 2016 and was intrigued by the 3 phases and the horsemanship required to move up the levels. Strider (Shining Spartan) was recovering from a torn suspensory ligament and it was going to be months before I was allowed to canter him again so the Intro division sounded great. So in May 2016 we entered our first show and I was hooked. 2018 has been our best year yet and I am looking forward with great anticipation to 2019 not only for myself but for the organization as a whole. Joined the Board in 2017 and feel like we have made great progress this last year and I know we'll keep getting better and better in the future.

LESLIE MARTEIN REGION 3 DIRECTOR From Boulder, Colorado In the summer of 2013, I attended "Working Equitation Play Days" hosted by some local trainers as a way to introduce the sport to some of their students. It was great fun, although my understanding of the sport was fairly limed at that time. Then, as luck would have it, some friends who were involved in bringing Nuno Matos to Colorado in 2014, asked me to help organize the clinic. Nuno's clinic generated so much excitement about the sport for me, that I attended the Haras Cup that fall. I returned to Haras in March 2015 in order to attend a three-day Working Equitation seminar taught by Claudia Elsner Matos, which cemented my interest in the sport. I have spent the past five years of my horse experience as an enthusiastic amateur dedicated to Working Equitation.I have been on the board of High Country Working Equitation since 2015, where I have served as Secretary for the past three years and plan to continue as a board member and Secretary in 2019. During that time, I have also been on the newsletter committee as a contributor and editor. HCWE has a rather large membership and is a very active club - this year we will host eight B-rated shoes as well as several schooling shows, play days, and clinics. I also served on the WE United Rules Committee for 2018 and plan to continue that commitment through 2019. Quinn, my new Working Equitation partner, is an eight-year-old Andalusian gelding. He is very green and we have lots to learn together, but I can't think of a better sport to develop a great partnership between horse https://us13.admin.mailchimp.com/campaigns/show?id=1753333 Page 9 of 31 Campaign Overview | Mailchimp 1/15/20, 317 PM I can't think of a better sport to develop a great partnership between horse and rider.

KRIS BLACKLOCK REGION 5 DIRECTOR From somewhere in Wisconsin She LOVES to have FUN, even during Wisconsin's long winters. You'll find her out riding in the dark before or after work with a headlamp and GPS to track adventures. She uses farm fields to perfect straightness, geometry, and writing etch-a-sketch in the snow. Kris is passionate about ensuring dressage is an inclusive discipline for all ages.....ALL levels...and ALL breeds (including gaited) and actively organizes demos, clinics, and educational activities. In addition to representing Region 5, she also o!ers fresh ideas, submits rule change suggestions, serves on the Awards Committee, and creates each of the individual certificates that annually recognize the Top Ten National and Regional horses, horse/rider pairs, and riders (455 recipients in 2018). Plus she actively self-trains and competes with her Working Equitation partners Boon Ocean Blue, a 5 yr old Blue AND Gambler's Jackpot, an 11 year old gaited . Kris enthusiastically supports fellow riders/horses and shows us that one is never too old to learn, laugh, and have FUN along the way!

BARRY DORNAN REGION 6 DIRECTOR Upperco, Maryland I have been a full time horse professional for nearly 20 years; mostly starting horses under saddle, trying to help horses with issues, and teaching horsemanship. I moved to an 80 acre mixed discipline boarding stable in northern Baltimore County, Maryland in the fall of 2016. I began my life with horses late in my twenties and my initial training was from proteges of Tom and Bill Dorrance and Ray Hunt. Interestingly enough, the horsemanship they taught descends from the same place where Working Equitation was born. As my career progressed, I began to ride more "English" horses than "Western", so I took a fair amount of formal Dressage instruction and began to incorporate it into what I was already doing. Now, I earn most of my living riding Warmbloods and Thoroughbreds destined for Dressage, Eventing, and the Hunter/Jumper ring, while I spend my free time trying to master the art of making straight- up-in the-bridle, one-handed, vaquero style spade bit horses out of my own. This is why I say Working Equitation is a perfect fit for my skill set. My horse background is founded on the idea of mastering the basics before trying to advance, so I am particularly drawn to the structure of the U.S. rules that provide opportunities for riders and horses at any level to https://us13.admin.mailchimp.com/campaigns/show?id=1753333 Page 13 of 31 Campaign Overview | Mailchimp 1/15/20, 317 PM rules that provide opportunities for riders and horses at any level to compete.

HEATHER WALTERS REGION 7 DIRECTOR. From High Springs, Florida I'm an FEI level Dressage rider and trainer that participates as a demo rider for local educational events as well, and volunteer whenever possible. I perform secretary duties at multiple shows in Florida, to include Working Equitation Competitions and Clinics, Schooling Dressage Shows, and WDAA/USEF Recognized Dressage Shows. I'm an L-Graduate with Distinction. While I love Classical Dressage, and and it's the basis of my business, Working Equitation caught my eye in 2015 and I fell in love, and haven't looked back. I am so passionate about WE that I have started a series of shows and clinics at the Florida Horse Park and hope to encourage growth and participation.
