for business In the northern Philippine highlands of Ifugao, the belief is that cocks crow four times from midnight, with the third crow at predawn or about 4 o'clock. There are variations of "misa de gallo" but whatever suits the culture, Filipinos observe it diligently.

A tradition has been born on the side, romanticized by older folks and taken advantage of by the entrepreneurs among us. The countryside still experiences it despite inroads by contemporary times.

President Rodrigo Duterte said yesterday the Philippines continues to be a safe travel spot for foreigners and a con- ducive investment destination.

Duterte made the assurance as he graced the Kapampan- gan Food Festival 2017 here attended by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and other local officials.

"Let me reiterate that the Philippines remains a safe place for visitors and continues to be a conducive investment destination," he said.
