‘Dyslexia Matters’– events across

The following events are taking place across Scotland during, or close to, Dyslexia Awareness Week, all organised by Dyslexia Scotland’s local volunteer-led branches. Dyslexia Scotland North East – Thursday 30 October, 7pm Learn about ‘Support for Learning Boxes’ and resources for parents. Kaimhill Primary School, Community Wing, Pitmedden Terrace AB10 7HR. Youth Group XdysleX meets at the same time. Dyslexia Scotland Angus – Thursday 30 October, 11.30am – 4.30pm The branch will have a stall at Asda, New Road, Forfar. Please drop in and say hello. Dyslexia Scotland – Monday 3 November, 7pm (date may be subject to change) Fran Ranaldi. Brahan Building, Lecture Theatre, Perth College, Crieff Road, Perth PH1 2NX Dyslexia Scotland Angus – 4 – 9 November There will be a display of information at Forfar, Monifieth and Arbroath libraries for anyone to drop in and see throughout the week. Dyslexia Scotland Skye and – 4 – 9 November There will be a display of information and a book stand of ‘Quick Reads’ offering free books! Community Library, Viewfield Road, Portree IV51 9ET Dyslexia Scotland Firth – 4 – 9 November There will be a display of information in all the Moray libraries. All schools will be targeted and there will be a display table in Elgin library during the week. Dyslexia Scotland East Ren – Tuesday 4 November, 7.15pm ‘What is Meares-Irlen’.Williamwood High Schoo, Eaglesham Road, Clarkston G76 8RF. Dyslexia Scotland Lanarkshire – Tuesday 4 November, 7.30pm Have your say in Dyslexia Scotland’s strategic planning. College School, Bothwell Road, Hamilton ML3 0AY. Dyslexia Scotland West – Wednesday 5 November, 7pm Focus on Adults with Dyslexia. College, Almondvale Crescent, Livingston EH54 7EP Dyslexia Scotland West Lothian – Thursday 6 November, 6pm Listen to Malcy Duff, Comic Artist, talk about the inspiration for his work and try your hand at doing your own illustrations! Dyslexia Scotland West Lothian – Friday 7 November, 2pm Launch of our new ‘Dyslexia Cafe’, which will be a regular drop-in event, at Whitburn Community Centre, The Glebe, Manse Road, Bathgate EH47 8EZ Dyslexia Scotland – Saturday 8 November The branch will have a stall at the Mercat Shopping Centre in , KY1 1NX. Dyslexia Scotland Inverness – Wednesday 12 November, 7pm Coffee evening at the Smithton Culloden Free Church, Murray Road, Smithton, Inverness IV2 7YU. Chat with our friendly volunteers and look at resources. Dyslexia Scotland South East – Wednesday 12 November, 7pm Screening of BBC3 documentary ‘Don’t Call Me Stupid’ starring Kara Tointon, former Eastenders actor.
