Mildmay Oaks
Secure mental health services Mildmay Oaks is a low secure and locked rehabilitation service for men and woman with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs).
We aim to support patients in a range of community-based activities as part of a full treatment programme and to prepare them in moving through their discharge pathway towards a community based placement.
We work with commissioners to implement the principles of Transforming Care by providing a Patient profile treatment programme which focuses on ensuring that patients have the skills needed to move into the Individuals who would benefit from the service community as soon as it is safe to do so. provided at Mildmay Oaks include:
Men with a diagnosis of learning disability and/ or ASD
Women with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or ASD
Those who often present with complex needs May present with challenging behaviours and a forensic history including sexual offending
Detained under the Mental Health Act May have experienced several previous failed admissions to other facilities

Our full care pathway includes the following facilities:
Low secure, learning disability (18 male beds) Locked rehabilitation, learning disability (16 male beds and 14 female beds)
Patients participate in a daily and weekly community group meeting whereby they will agree and plan daily and weekly activities on-site and within the community.
Community activities include:
Trips to local areas Visits to the local village, local café, cinema, theatre and bowling alley
Community and outreach programmes to attend education providers and placements
We recognise that the people in our care are part of a wider circle of family, friends and networks which are important to them. We aim to work in partnership with them to ensure that we provide the right service for their needs but also to support them in their own right as carers.
Family carers are encouraged to develop good contact arrangements with the ward manager, social worker and clinical team.

We believe that the environment in which our therapy takes place, is just as important as the treatment itself and we provide:

Rehabilitation is led by our specialist and highly experienced clinical team which comprises of:
Psychology Psychiatry Occupational therapy Nursing Art therapy Social work
They offer a specialist clinical treatment programme which includes one-to-one sessions where a group session is not appropriate for clinical reasons. The clinical programme is informed by patient needs and reviewed for individual and group therapies on a 12- week basis. How to find us
