ABOUT THE COVER From endless blue skies to the historic Rosson House, the cover was inspired by the distinctive colors, textures and architecture that make up Downtown Phoenix. The artist focused on elements that give the city center a unique sense of place; details like the yellow-budded branches of the native palo verde tree, the patterns of cast concrete blocks, or the bell tower at St. Mary’s Basilica.

ABOUT THE COVER ARTIST JAKE EARLY Jake Early’s illustrations and hand printed serigraphs have earned him much acclaim. He illustrates and prints serigraphs by hand on a printing press he designed and made himself. His simple, illustrative style, bold color palette, and strong depiction of place resonate with collectors. Early’s love of posters as a traditional form of public communication provide the perfect canvas for his work. A California native, he moved to Arizona in 2007. He is a graduate of the graphic design program at California State University, Chico and studied at the School of Fine Arts in Seville, Spain. Contact him at [email protected] or visit www.jakeearly.com

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER NADER ABUSHHAB A local photographer with a passion for downtown arts and culture, Nader Abushhab loves to shoot fashion, portraits and commercial projects. Finding art in simplicity and fine details drives his aesthetic vision. He enjoys collaborating with other artists, local designers and working with the broader creative community.
