December 2018 Merry Christmas Photo Courtesy of Warsop Inner Wheel WARSOP REMEMBERS This year’s Remembrance Sunday parade was the largest yet with many more people than usual joining us at the War Memorial to pay their respects. Warsop looked magical with the number of poppies on buildings, lamp-posts and trees. So many groups went the extra mile this year, especially our local schools. Special thanks must go to ‘Warsop’s Real Poppy Campaign’ group who have worked tirelessly since 2014 both in raising awareness and much needed funds for our branch. They really pulled out all the stops to make this year so special and the climax of their campaign. We should all be proud of the formations that have made the effort to decorate our Town, bringing our community together. Warsop was really on the map this year, being represented at Nottingham’s Games of Remembrance, The Festival of Remembrance at The Royal Albert Hall London, Nottingham’s Remembrance event on The Trent Embankment, and also at Tyne Cot Cemetery Belgium. Branch Chairman, Jason Hood received a fantastic donation from the members of ‘Warsop’s Real Poppy Campaign following the Remembrance Parade.
