May will be a busy month: our students take finals, our seniors prepare for their graduations and the parties that follow; our 8th grade class will also graduate and move on to high school. There will also be baccalaureates and special celebrations. With May we will also see weddings on most weekends. At the end of May, a team of women from our parish leaves for a mission to South Africa. Easter Season ends with Pentecost on May 20th and Ordinary Time begins. So it looks like a busy month ahead.

Annual Diocesan Appeal (ADA): Our goal this year is $334,040. As of April 27th, $183,792 has been pledged for 55.02% of our goal. Any amount pledge over our goal will be returned to the parish. If you have already donated to the 2018 ADA, thank you for your support.

In John’s gospel for the Sixth Sunday of Easter Jesus calls us into friendship. We are more than disciples; we don’t follow him mindlessly, nor are we his slaves who exist to serve him. In fact he loves us as a friend and calls us to love one another as friends. He has called us into this relationship. We are commanded to live the love he has for us with each other.
