KALKABA meets with Sheik Ahmed Al-Sabah

On the side-lines of the 18th Asian Games held in Jakarta during the period 18th August – 2nd September 2018, Col. Hamad KALKABA, the ISSF Senior Vice-President and President of the NOC of Cameron met with Sheikh Ahmad Al- Fahad AL-SABAH the President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC).

Col. KALKABA was keen to attend the activities of the Games and he praised the role played by the Olympic Council of Asia in preparing for organization of this spectacular Games held in cooperation with the National Olympic Committee of Indonesia which aimed to carry out the goals of this Game in serving the athletes.

He also met with the ISSF Secretary General Mr. Mohammed S. Al GARNAS, the Secretary General of the NOC of Cameron Mr. David OJONG and Head of ISSF Technical Affairs Mr. Ashraf Sayed DAHROUG.

During the meeting, topics related to the ISSF affairs were debated, the most important of which was the issue of holding the 29th meeting of the Executive Board of the ISSF and the formation of various committees of the ISSF and discussing the means of activating the role of these committees.

Other topics discussed in above meeting were the importance of active presence and participation of the ISSF in the coming meetings and events such as the Youth to be held in Buenos Aires and the XXIII ANOC General Assembly to be held in Tokyo in 2018.

A visit to City of Palembang

The ISSF Secretary General Mr. Mohammed S. AL GARANS performed a visit to the city of Palembang which hosts the 18th Asian Games 2018.

At the airport of arrival in Palembang, Mr. AL GARANS was received by the Mayor of Palembang City Mr. Ahmed NAJIB. The visit included being to the sport city Jaka Baren, where he was received by the Governor of south Sumatra, Mr. Alex NOURDIN, then to the sport venues where he attended competitions of , bowling and the water track of the various rowing events and the athletes’ village.

Mr. AL GARANS praised the city potentials and its full readiness to host global activities.

Mr. AL GARNAS presented a memorial trophy to the Governor of south Sumatra, Mr. Alex NOURDIN who welcomes the cooperation with the ISSF once again as his city was the host of the 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games in 2013.

ISSF Secretary General meets with IWF President

On the sidelines of the 18th Asian Games, the Secretary General of Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) Mr. Mohammed S. AL GARNAS meets with Dr. Tamas AJAN, the President of International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) and Mr. Mohammed JALOUD the IWF Secretary General to discuss means of promoting cooperation between the ISSF and IWF and to organize International championships to be listed in the IWF calendar, in order to raise the technical levels of this sport in the ISSF Member NOCs.

Meeting with the President of World Archery Federation

On the side-lines of the 18th Asian Games held in Indonesia, the Secretary General of Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) Mr. Mohammed S. AL-GARNAS held a meeting with the Vice- President of World Archery Federation Mr. Sanguan KOSAVINTA and the Secretary General of World Archery Federation Mr. Sung HO UM, with the attendance of the ISSF Executive Board Member and the Council Member of World Archery Federation Mr. Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed CHAPOL.

The mutual efforts exerted by the two organizations, to organize the next International Solidarity Championship in 2019 as one of the accredited competitions of the World Archery Federation were also discussed in the meeting with the aim of raising the technical standards of athletes of the Member States of ISSF, improving their World classification & ranking and facilitating the exchange of the International Experience for athletes, officials, referees and coaches in the ISSF member countries. ISSF Secretary General meets with the President of Air-Sport Federation of Asia

In conjunction with the 18th Asian Games held in Jakarta and Palembang in Indonesia, a meeting was held between the Secretary General of Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) Mr. Mohammed S. AL GARNAS and the President of Air-Sport Federation of Asia Mubarak AL- MUBARAK to discuss means of cooperation between the two organizations after organizing the 1st and 2nd championships in Jeddah, in 2012 and 2015.

Necessary coordination was made to hold the 3rd championships in Indonesia in 2019 using the same venue and electronic systems assigned for holding events of this sport during the Asian Games & equipped by the Air-Sport Federation of Asia to ensure appropriate organization and results determination.

Suitable date of the championship will be fixed in accordance with the international agenda of this sport to ensure the largest number of participating countries in the championship.
