Congregate Lunch Program: We are pleased to announce the lunch program is coming back. CRT is scheduled to start congregate lunches on Monday, August 23. The menu will be posted on the Senior Center website and our Facebook page. Menus will also be available at the Senior Center. Participants must call in by Friday, August 20 at noon for Monday, August 23rd lunches.

Travel in a COVID World: Are you thinking about traveling during COVID and have questions? Join Brett Isaacson, President of Friendship Tours on Friday, August 13 at 1:30pm in the Great Room. Brett will speak on what is happening in the travel world and will be available to answer your questions. The Senior Center invites anyone who is interested in traveling to join the discussion. Based on this discussion we will look at booking future trips.

Outdoor Concert: Northeast Country Band Live at the Gazebo, Wednesday, August 18 from 1:00-3:00pm. This 5-piece group will take us on a journey featuring traditional country artists such as Merle Haggard, , , , and more. Bring a picnic lunch. The concert is free. Rain date: Thursday, August 19.

Walking Tours with Jim Malley: Back by popular demand! Enfield Street Tour: Monday, August 9. The tour begins at Enfield Street School at 10:00am and lasts approximately 2 hours. Rain date: Monday, August 16. Pre-registration is required by calling the Enfield Senior Center at 860-763-7425. Space is limited.

Jim Malley Presents: Focus on “People, Places and Events in Enfield”, Wednesday, August 11 at 2:00pm. His presentation will include photographs of JFK’s visit to Enfield, Angelo Lamagna’s contributions to Enfield, and the Enfield Inn fire. Photographs were taken by Jim’s Father, Edward J. Malley Jr.

Afternoon Book Chats: Katie Werth, Deputy Director of Libraries, is once again holding a book chat at the Senior Center. August’s chat will be “Nothing to See Here” by Kevin Wilson on Wednesday, August 11 at 2:30pm in the Multipurpose Room.

Fun Bingo: Wednesdays, August 11 & 25, 10:45am – 12:00pm. Drop-in and play a few games for small cash prizes. Cost is 50 cents per card.

Ted Talks: What’s Your Happiness Score? Thursday, August 12, 1:30-2:30pm in the Computer Room. How do you rediscover a happier, more purpose driven self in the wake of the pandemic? Quiz yourself alongside work futurist Dominic Price as he lays out a simple four-part guide to assessing your life in ways that can help you reconnect with what’s really important.

Newsletter: The Enfield Senior Center publishes “The Center Connection” monthly with program and event details. The newsletter can be viewed online on our web page or Facebook page. Printed copies are available for pick-up at the Senior Center. The September newsletter is scheduled to be emailed out the week of August 16.
