FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Approximately 12 x 48 inches. LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE: Advanced Beginner. MATERIALS: SURI ELEGANCE by The Alpaca Yarn Company, 100% Suri Alpaca, 3.5 oz (100g) skein = 875 yds, 1 skein Needles size: US #3 (3.25 mm) & US #8 (5.0 mm) optional for CO NOTIONS: Tapestry needle, Stitch holders GAUGE: Blocked: 28 stitches 36 row = 4 inches. TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE. Create Loop: Slip every other stitch Suri Chic Jabot onto a stitch holder. Hint: Run a piece of yarn through every other loop before trying Abbreviations Used: to separate the stitches. This will make it easier co cast on to pick one up if it slips off the needle. Long tail cast on: make a slipknot for the initial stitch, at a distance from the end of the yarn (about 1.5” for each stitch to be cast on). Arrange both ends of yarn in left hand: the loose end held on the thumb, the end leading to the ball on the index, securing both ends with the ring and pinky fingers. Bring needle under front strand of thumb loop, up over front strand of index loop, catching it and bringing it under the front of the thumb loop. Slip thumb out of loop, and use it to adjust tension on the new stitch. One stitch cast on. Continue in this fashion until the desired number of stitches have been cast on.

Grafting: Arrange stitches on two needles. Thread a tapestry needle with matching yarn (approximately 1” per stitch). Working from right to left and RS facing, proceed as follows: Front needle: yarn through 1st stitch as if to purl, leave stitch on needle. Back needle: yarn through 1st stitch as if to knit, leave on needle. Then continue as follows: Front needle: through 1st stitch as if to knit, slip off needle; through next st as if to purl, leave on needle. Back needle: through 1st stitch as if to purl, slip off needle; through next st as if to knit, leave on needle. Adjust tension to match rest of knitting and continue until all sts are worked in this fashion.
