MUSIC Enrichment at HOME guidelines

Sing your favorite song together as a family or to someone else. This allows us to work on verbal SING communication and language skills. Karaoke songs on youtube are great too, as you have to work on reading skills fluency. Play your favorite music and share with someone in your home why you like it. If you have an PLAY instrument at home, practice it and play a song for someone in your house. Get up and move to your favorite music. Have a family dance off OR match me (I dance, you dance) MOVE competition. Play follow the leader while dancing. Each day pick a new song to listen to. In music class, Conley students have been taught to discuss: LISTEN what do you hear in the music?(EX: instruments, tempo, rhythms, dynamics), how does the music make you feel?, and what does it make you think of?. Get creative and explore the world of music online. Parents and grandparents pull out your old record, EXPLORE CD, tape, MP3 collections and share with your family. Learn about a new instrument, what family does it belong to? - brass, woodwinds, strings, or percussion.
