YOUTH 2000 SUMMER FESTIVAL (16-35 year olds) Cistercian College Roscrea, Co. Tipperary from Thursday 15th-Sunday 18th August. An opportunity not to be missed to experience the Catholic faith and meet many new people. This Festival has been nicknamed the ‘Holy Oxygen’ with over 1000 people for all corners of attending last year. The festival is donation only. Free buses available from towns throughout Ireland. A BIG THAK YOU to all those who supported the Jewellery Stall for Cystic Fibrosis on Market Day. €340 was raised and presented to Midlands Branch of Cystic Fibrosis Association.

LADIES GAA Good luck to Megan Heneghan (capt) and the Galway Minor Ladies in their All Ireland Final v Dublin on Bank Holiday Monday at 3- 15pm in Nenagh. The club are running a bus, it will be leaving Glenamaddy at 12 noon. Anybody interested in going can contact Mary Fahy 0876671789 or Peter Clarke 0863527982 or any club officer. We ask all players who are not working to support. Adults €10 kids €5. Thanks to all who helped out with our stall last Saturday, and those who supported us. Well done to our under 8 and under 10 girls who took part in the GAA Fun day celebrating 125 years of GAA and congrats to the organisers.

ST. BRENDAN’S LGFC The 5th annual ECC teo sponsored St. Brendan's LGFC 10km & 5km fun run/walk take place on Sunday 4th August in . This is a great family event. Registration on the day from 9.30am. 10km walkers will start at 11.00am followed by 10km runners and 5km participants at 11.30am. The races start and finish at Colaiste Mhuire.

GENTS GAA Club in conjunction with the Glenamaddy Festival Committee hosted a banquet in the Oakland Hotel to honour the 1987 Junior Champions. This was a very successful night thanks to all who gave spot prizes and to the Oakland Hotel for an excellent meal. A fun day was had at the GAA pitch on Sunday celebrating 125 years of GAA 1888-2013. Thanks to all who helped out, the boys and girls and the selection who rolled back the years and Pat Glavey the Referee. Minors play Dunmore on Tuesday 6 August at 7.30pm in Clonberne in the Championship. Lotto reps for August Paddy Conneally, Tommy Ward and Tomás Giblin.
