Children’s Rules:

Children aged between 6 and 11 travels for free with a Child Pass.

A separate child price at 0 price value must still be issued

A child must be accompanied at all times by at least one person with an Adult Pass or Adult Saver Pass. The Adult does not have to be a family member and can be anyone over 18 years old.

Up to two children can travel with one adult. For example, when two adults are traveling, they can take four children with them. If more than two children are traveling with one adult, a separate Youth Pass needs to be purchased for the additional children.

Children under 6 travel for free and do not need a pass. The child under 4 is not entitled to a seat and during busy times the child may be required to sit on the accompanied adult’s lap. If a separate accommodation is required for a child under 6, a Child Pass must be purchased and counts towards the adult/child ratio listed above for the free child pass

Eligible Party:

People with a permanent residence (for more than 6 months) outside of Europe, the Russian Federation or Turkey are eligible to purchase or use a German Rail Pass.

Conditions of Use:

The name on the railpass must match the name on the passport Passes must be validated within 11 months of date of issue (for any pass issued after 01 January 2016) by a railway official in Germany (station’s desk) who also fills in the passport number Passes must be validated prior to boarding the first train/ship An Inspector on international trains to Germany may also validate a pass when the holder of the German Rail Pass arrives in Germany. REFUND POLICY

A 15% cancellation penalty applies to completely unused and unvalidated passes returned within 1 year of issue date. German Rail Pass must be presented for refund unused and not validated German Rail Passes are not refundable and cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or partially used
