Bienvenue! It is my pleasure to welcome you to Appleby College’s 2017 Spring Fling ! As ol’ Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra, sings in I Love Paris, “I love Paris in the springtime”. As you soak up the Parisian theme of this evening’s festivities, I’d like to recognize Spring Fling Co-Chairs Chantal Poirier and Kim Szigeti-Khan, committee members, and the many parent and employee volunteers for their tireless commitment in creating a magical evening for all to enjoy. The support received by our donors and sponsors is also greatly appreciated. Your participation in tonight’s celebration will help further two very important strategic priorities: · The building of Appleby’s new athletics and student life space, the A.W.B. Alumni Centre for Athletics and Student Life, designed to transform our capacity for indoor athletics and our expanding academic and co-curricular aspirations. · Increasing the School’s Financial Assistance programme. We believe in making an Appleby education available to outstanding students from diverse backgrounds, creating an exceptional and talented community that benefits all of our students. Heads & Tails Game Rules · Purchase a glow stick bracelet for $20 from one of our volunteers · Listen for the cue from the Emcee to play and join us on the dance floor · On the count of three, each participant puts their hands on their “head” or “tail” · The Emcee will flip a coin and announce heads or tails · Those who have their hands on the correct corresponding body part are still in the game and remain standing, the others will leave the dance floor and watch the rest of the game · The Emcee will start another round and will continue until the last person is declared the winner
