Please take time to check your child’s head daily for any signs of nits and/or live lice. We appreciate your help to keep head lice under control. If you do find lice in your child’s hair, please notify the office so that we can do our part as well.

Vocal Music Notes

Monteith Winter Concert Brownell Middle School Auditorium Tuesday, December 13, 7:00 pm

Featuring the 1st, 3rd and 5th grades and the 4th/5th grade Choir. All students should wear holiday “dress up” clothes to the concert.

Rehearsal will take place in the Monteith Gym this year.

Cold Weather Clothing

Monteith students go outdoors for recess twice each day unless it is raining or the wind chill is below 0º F. Please be sure that your child leaves for school dressed properly for the weather. Our school policy is that students must have boots and snow pants to play on the wood chips or playfield once snow is on the ground, otherwise, children must stay on the blacktop. Please make sure your child has hat, snow pants, boots, warm coat, scarf , and warm gloves/mitten (water proof if possible). Many children have thin gloves that become very wet while playing causing their hands to become very cold. Dear Friends at Montieth Elementary School,

Thank you for teaming up with Community Food Bank to host a food at Montieth Elementary School and participating in the Hunger Heroes School Challenge for the 2016 -2017 school year. Through your school’s terrific efforts we received a total of 994 pounds of food and $5. Your will provide approximately 840 meals to our neighbors in need! Please extend our thanks to all who participated.

By collecting over 750 pounds, your school has collected enough food to feed an entire classroom for a week! That’s at least a full day of meals for 30 kids for 7 days. Congratulations, you will receive a certificate in the mail!

Without advocates like you Gleaners would not be able to collect over 2.5 million pounds of food each year through food drives in our communities to distribute to our more than 510 partner agencies. Through your support, you are helping to connect hungry people with the food they need when and where they need it.

We hope to have you on board next year for the Hunger Heroes School Challenge! The winners of the monthly challenge, who will be featured on the Hunger Heroes School Webpage, will be announced at the beginning of next month. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of further assistance in any way.

Thank you, again, for choosing Gleaners and supporting our mission to nourish communi- ties and feed hungry people. I look forward to working with you again in the future!

Best Regards,

Natalie Davidson Food and Fund Drive Campaign Coordinator Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan
