Some of the recent Marathi films have been appreciated by people not just in Maharashtra but all over India and hence its rather apt that the people associated with Marathi cinema also get due recognition through such a platform. Marathi cinema is heading in the right direction, forward. Marathi theatre is alive and kicking. The idea is to make this programme fun- fulfilled and interactive” Adding on Mahesh Manjrekar stated, “Content-wise, Marathi cinema is ahead of Hindi cinema. Marathi experimental theatre is very rich and one of the most active in our country. Why can’t we have them distributed internationally? Why not have a global market for them. The Marathi film industry needs this kind of professionalism and we are open to it. I hope MIFTA will ease the job. Quite a few heavyweights from the Hindi film industry are interested in venturing into the Marathi film domain.” For further information - www.lavasamifta.in About Lavasa: Lavasa is a hill city being developed by Lavasa Corporation Limited where people can live, work, learn and play in harmony with nature.
