A s A C o a c h • 2017-18 marks his 25th year as Alberta Golden Bears Head Coach and his 29th year as a member of Golden Bears Volleyball • Five-time CIS and Canada West Coach of the Year (1997, 1999, 2004, 2007, 2009) • Coached 1996-97, 2004-05, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2013-14, and 2014-15 CIS national champions (6) • Has coached Alberta to five national silver medals (1996, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2017) and three bronze medals (1998, 1999, 2010) • Coached 11 Canada West titles (1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015), one as a player in 1981, one as an Assistant Coach in 2002 • 2016-17 is Terry’s 26th trip to Nationals with the Golden Bears: Twenty-two of his 24 seasons as head coach, both years as an assistant coach (2002, 2003) and both years as a player (1980, 1981) • Had two-year stint as Assistant under former player Richard Schick (2001-03) while completing Master’s degree at U of A • Golden Bears Head Coach 1991-92 to 2000-01 and 2003-04 to present • Through 2017-18, career coaching record at Alberta: 735-209 (.779) and a 87-39 (.690) playoff record • Through 2017-18, 399-87 (.821) in conference play

Golden Bears Volleyball 23 Costa Chrysanthou Memorial Trophy (Golden Bears Volleyball MVP)

Awarded annually to the Golden Bears Volleyball player who contributes most to the team and more recently considered the team’s MVP trophy. Chrysanthou was an off-campus coach for Golden Bears Volleyball at the time of his untimely passing in the late 1960s. Egyptian born, he graduated from the U of A’s Faculty of Engineering in the mid-1950s, after which he worked for the City of Edmonton.
