• Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze delivered a speech at the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly. In his speech PM urged Russia to fulfill its obligations and withdraw its occupation forces from the Georgian territory, stressed ’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations and democratic reforms of the country, highlighted Georgia’s foreign and domestic policy priorities as well as GoG’s peace initiative. • Within the frames of the visit PM Bakhtadze also delivered a speech at the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit; FM participated in the Ministerial meeting on the Protection of Cultural Heritage and high-level event “Good Human Rights Stories”. • On the sidelines of the UNGA session, Georgian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister held high-level bilateral meetings with UN Secretary General, EU top officials, world leaders and representatives from international organizations and business circles. MORE EU and EIB Provided € 30MLN to Support 600 Small and Businesses in Georgia 27.09.2018 • The European Investment Bank (EIB) has lent EUR 30m to TBC Bank in order to broaden the access to finance Georgia’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The EIB funds will be provided in the framework of the European Union’s EU4Business initiative designed to support SMEs in the six Eastern Partnership countries. • Around 600 Georgian SMEs are expected to benefit from the loan. UN Human Rights Council 39: UK Statement on Georgia

• The 39th session of UN Human Rights Council was held in Geneva. During the session the UK praised Georgia for it's continued cooperation. "An example of a country tapping into support is Georgia. We welcome Georgia’s continued cooperation with OHCHR and regret that yet again access to its regions of and was denied by those in effective control of these areas. This is particularly alarming given concerns over increasing restrictions on freedom of movement affecting people’s access to education, healthcare and property, as well as ethnic discrimination in accessing identity documents giving full civic rights. We support OHCHR’s call for a transparent independent investigation into the death of Mr. Tatunashvili whilst in custody in Tskhvinali".
