The reverse is similar to his 'Indian' $10 gold coin. The denomination for this issue is $100. Drawings and plaster models of this pattern design still exist at the Augustus Saint-Gaudens museum. They are depicted in the little book that comes with the 2009 USA Tribute High Relief $50 gold piece minted by the US Mint. The main notable differences, and what was eventually approved, are the winged Victory/Miss Liberty and the feathered headdress. These are 1 oz, .999 gold. Liberia 2000 Amazonian Pattern $100 Gilt Silver Design I’m still seeking information on this piece. Caution, these are clad gold over silver and unscrupulous sellers have been known to not know, or not describe, this essential fact. These are often found with a milky haze which I assume is an effect of poor plating techniques. The denomination is $100 and the mintage must be extremely low. They were sold by PandaAmerica with a correct description. .
