Could Queenstown become ZOOMtown? This year’s COVID-19 crisis created shockwaves, putting our personal health and safety to the test and severely disrupting the way we do business. The silver lining is that it’s inspired a lot of us to rethink the way we work. Necessity is the mother of adaptation and this disruptor has created the largest global “work-from-home” experiment in history which has fast-forwarded us through years of trial and error. But now others are seeing the opportunities and looking to adapt their business models. Let’s redesign the way we work and invest in the right tools and strategies to work smarter - not harder - for the health, wellbeing and sustainability of our people, business and Aotearoa. As our workforces become increasingly digitised, work from home (#wfh) or work from anywhere (#wfa) have become normal in our district. The Lake Hayes A&P Show is always an eagerly anticipated family event that takes place early in the new year, and for a time there was a real concern that 2021 would become a casualty of the virus. However, the organisers have received encouragement and support to press the go button on the 106th Annual Lake Hayes A&P Show which will take place on Saturday 9th January 2021 at the Lake Hayes Showgrounds. Better yet, this year entry is FREE for everyone! The Lake Hayes A&P Show is a fun day out for the family, set on one of the most beautiful Showgrounds in the country. Like all A&P shows it brings the town a little closer to the country and gives the Wakatipu community a taste of rural life.
