11:15 a.m. Old/New Business  The Chairperson attended the ceremony held in Towson, Maryland, on May 8, 2021, at 11 A.M. The Governor posthumously pardoned thirty-four persons.  The Chairperson attended all five forums in honor of Fair Housing Month. Great work by all of the staff!  Maryland’s First Lady, Yumi Hogan, will serve on the Advisory Council of The Asian American Foundation. This comprises a new non-profit organization created in response to the surge of violence against or the “hate crimes” that have been perpetrated against Asian Americans.  We require one or two Commissioners interested actively to serve as non- voting members of the Western Maryland Advisory Council. (See the by-laws of that advisory board.)  Board elections will occur in August or September. We will subsequently install officers at a retreat and lunch this fall.
