“Eagle Ridge CDE” – AUG 3/AUG 4, 2019

TWO DAYS of competition consisting of driven , cones and up to a 14 km cross country marathon. This event is AEF sanctioned and will be run under 2019 AMERICAN DRIVING SOCIETY competition rules (refer to: at ADS‐ recognized events (www.americandrivingsociety.org), except as noted in this prize list).

Levels: Training, Preliminary, Intermediate

LOCATION: Eagle Ridge Carriage Driving Venue (35057 Range Rd 40) Kevisville, Alberta (west and south of Innisfail Alberta) From the north, via QE 2, at Innisfail, travel west on Hwy 54 to Range Rd 40 – Kevisville sign – turn south 12 km. Watch for signs and flags.

From the south, via QE 2, at Bowden travel west on Hwy 587 to Range Rd 43, turn north 3 km to the “Y” intersection, turn right (east) for 5 km. Watch for signs and flags

GROUNDS – grassy wooded trails, pasture – may be water crossings and wildlife

CONCESSION – new!! ‐ on site Friday evening until Sunday afternoon. A Saturday evening banquet is planned at the cost of $20.00 per plate. Please indicate number of plates you will require, with your entry. EVENING AUCTION! PLEASE BRING AN ITEM, NEW OR USED FOR THE AUCTION. A FUN WAY TO HELP SUPPORT OUR DRIVING EVENT!!! ***NOTE: All entries must be safety inspected and have wheel width measured prior to Dressage Test and Marathon Start.

TRAINING: ADS training test 1 PRELIMINARY: singles and pairs ‐ ADS preliminary test 1, multiples ‐ ADS preliminary test 5 INTERMEDIATE: ADS intermediate test 1 RING SIZES IN METERS: VSEs ‐Training and Preliminary single and pairs 30x60, ‐Tandems and 4rs and all Intermediate VSEs, 40x80 AND PONY ‐Training and Preliminary single and pairs 40x80 HORSE AND PONY ‐All Intermediates, tandems and 4 ups 40x100 Dressage Tests and equine sizes are available at www.americandrivingsociety.org/dressage_test.asp GENERAL INFORMATION:

1. NO DRONES ON PROPERTY 2. Dogs must be confined to your camp or on a leash at all times – and NOT allowed in kitchen area – note there may be friendly livestock guardian female dogs on premises 3. Wine & Cheese 4pm ‐‐ COMPETITORS MEETING 5pm Friday Aug 2, 2019 4. Caterer will be on site for the duration of the show 5. Entry secretary on site from 3 pm on Friday evening, Aug 2, 2019 with waivers to be signed, course maps and diagrams. Drivers with disabilities check with officials. 6. All courses ready for inspection after 4 pm Friday evening Aug 2, 2019 7. COMPETITORS MEETING – 5PM, followed immediately by official course walk. Competitors are free to go through all sections on foot or via bike and ATV’s, (no one under 16 years of age allowed to drive a motorized vehicle), but no cars or trucks. Obstacles may not have any vehicle beyond the Ins and Outs. Drivers with disabilities please check with officials. 8. Organizers reserve the right to refuse any entry or participation to any individual who has been expelled from, refused membership in, or is otherwise not in good standing with any local or provincial driving or equestrian organization. 9. Some competitors and their grooms/navigators may have participated in the organizing and or of course designing construction.

General Rules

1. Stone Bridge Carriage Driving Club, Eagle Ridge Venue and its owners, the executive and volunteers, will not be responsible for any accident damage, injury or illness to , owners, drivers, grooms, ground spectators or other persons or property whatsoever. 2. All competitors and their grooms/navigators are required to be members of some Provincial/State Equestrian Sports Office or required to become members of the Alberta Equestrian Federation, for insurance purposes. 3. Minimum age for grooms is 12 (exception to ADS Rule912.61). 4. ***** A junior driver (14‐18 years of age) must be accompanied at all times by a knowledgeable adult horseman, capable of rendering assistance in an emergency. At all times while on a carriage, children and junior athletes must wear a body protector and securely fastened protective headgear. 5. Attire: refer to ADS rules (Helmet & Safety Vest Required during Marathon). Drivers may use any style of driving. Spares kits recommended on or in your competition carts and . 6. Entry numbers must be displayed at ALL times in the warm up areas as well on the competition rings and course. 7. HARNESS AND VEHICLE MUST BE IN GOOD CONDITION AND SAFE – any style is accepted vehicles may have iron or solid rubber tires. Pneumatic tires and/or motorcycle type wire wheels are only permitted at the TRAINING level. 8. should be adjusted to fit snuggly to prevent catching on a vehicle or other piece of harness. A , with reins attached and passed through the terrets MUST be in place whenever a horse/s put to a vehicle. The horse/s must NEVER be left unattended while put to a vehicle. Failure to comply with any of the above will incur immediate DISQUALIFICATION, and the competitor will not be allowed to proceed. 9. A witnessed acknowledgement of responsibility and liability waiver MUST be signed at the time of registration. All persons riding on a carriage at any time on the grounds are required to UNDERSTAND and sign a waiver. 10. A copy of current Provincial/State (AEF, BCHC….) Equine Sports membership for Drivers and Grooms must accompany the entry.
