November 22 Hawk Update

Hello Hawk Families, this is Kristie Spenner with our weekly update. Hope you are enjoying this beautiful weekend!

As a reminder, we are only in school Monday and Tuesday of this week-there is no school Wednesday-Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. I hope you are all able to enjoy time with your loved ones and enjoy some good food!

For everyone’s safety, please have your driver’s license with you if you are coming to sign out your student. We do not dismiss after 1:45pm. ID’s are required for all student dismissals at all times. We appreciate your assistance with this as safety is a priority at Woodland Heights.

Please check out the edition of Mrs. Botkins’ Counselor’s Corner that is attached to tonight’s message. Mrs. Botkins includes her upcoming guidance lessons and other helpful information.

We are looking for second shift custodial candidates at WHES. Driving a bus is tied to the position. If you know anyone who might be interested, please have them contact the front office.

There are still openings available in our Prime Time after-school care program. Note that effective 1st, the fee to attend PrimeTime is increasing to $275 for Full Time students and $180.00 for Part Time students but note that Prime Time has not had a price increase in eleven years. Please contact our Prime Time Coordinator Celeste Kunneke at [email protected] if you would like to get signs up or if you have any questions.

News from our PTO:

Our Annual Fund campaign is under way and we are so grateful for the donations that have already come in! Remember, the contest between grade levels is based on participation only— not the amount raised— so ANY contribution helps toward your child’s grade level winning a class party and their teacher being rewarded with recess coverage!! Be sure to include your child (or children’s) grade and teacher with your donation. Send in a check made out to WHE PTO or donate online h ere.

Want to get your child’s teacher the perfect gift for Christmas? Check out the WHE staff favorites list h ere!

Thank you for your continued support! It is an honor to be partners in your child’s education. Happy Thanksgiving, have a wonderful evening and as always- GO HAWKS!
