1. Purpose This document outlines the rules and procedures governing the use of the Addicks and Juliff outdoor ranges operated by Bayou Rifles, Inc. (BRI). These rules and procedures apply to all individuals using these ranges.

2. General BRI ranges are designed to provide live-fire practice to authorized personnel in dedicated facilities where they can become proficient with and practice both individual and group . Individuals shall become familiar with these rules and procedures prior to using the range.

All BRI Members are required to abide by these rules. All BRI Members are expected to politely point out the nature of the violation to any user violating these rules, request they stop, and if continued violation occurs, report the incident along with the violators name, if possible, to the Range Safety Officer on duty. If a Range Safety Officer is not on duty, please report the rule infraction to [email protected].

Any member violating any of these rules is subject to loss of membership.

3. Variances Any club member can ask the Board of Directors for an individual exception to any rule via mail or e-mail to [email protected]. If this request is approved, a variance letter issued by the Board will be provided for the member to carry while at the range. Upon request this variance letter must be displayed to any interested party so that members and guests will know the Board has approved the exception to the rule described in the letter.

4. Disciplinary Actions The By-laws direct the Board of Directors to establish and enforce rules. Therefore, all disciplinary actions taken against members will be decided by a vote of the Board of Directors.

Examples of events which will lead to disciplinary action are unsafe acts such as inappropriate handling of firearms when people are downrange, handling firearms in a grossly unsafe manner, multiple or repeated safety rule violations, destruction of club property, theft of club property, formal firearm instruction (paid or unpaid), all commercial activities, use of alcohol or illegal drugs or being under the influence of such while on club property, allowing others to use your membership card, allowing others unauthorized access to club property, shooting at wildlife, shooting a center fire at Addicks and/or not shooting into the designated berm or backstop. The examples listed above are not all inclusive; the Board of Directors reserves the right to evaluate all infractions for disciplinary action.

After investigating a potential rule infraction, the Board will determine if disciplinary action is required. Depending upon the severity of the infraction, disciplinary action may be a warning, probation, temporary suspension, or termination of both membership and right of future enrollment.

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2021 Page 3 of 15

If disciplinary action is taken the member will be notified in writing. The member has the right to petition the Board for reconsideration. Petitioning requires the member to attend the next board meeting and present his/her argument.

If a temporary suspension is issued the member will be notified in writing that their privileges are suspended until they appear before the Board and present a case for reinstatement. Any member who is issued a temporary suspension will not be allowed to re-enroll until they have petitioned the Board for reinstatement and presented their case to the Board. The Board will consider the member’s input in its final ruling.

See Article 9 of the Bylaws for additional information on disciplinary actions.

At the Juliff 25/50 yard range a firing line forward of the pad is allowed as long as all shooters agree to a common firing line and shots fired impact the backstops. 9. All firing must be aimed to hit a paper target placed between the frames or to hit a silhouette target where their use is approved. 10. The shooter must demonstrate to the High Power Director or his designee that he/she can hit an approved target from the extended yard line with each shot impacting the berm behind the target. b) A current NRA high power classification card is the most expedient form of qualification. Successful completion of one of the Bayou Rifles scheduled across- the-course matches or 600 yard mid-range matches or long range matches, will also serve as qualification. Otherwise, a member must review the Long Range Qualification document (available from the High Power Director) and attend a scheduled qualification class to demonstrate proficiency in order to qualify for shooting at 600 yards and beyond.
