European Veteran Indoor Records 2004 25 1 EUROPEAN MASTERS INDOOR RECORDS 2018 compiled by Ivar Söderlind, Statistician Manager of EMA April 30, 2018 I have been working with the European Masters Records for almost 30 years. I started in July 1988 on behalf of EVAA (European Veteran Athletics Association.) Before it was no statistic compilation with official European Masters Records. Since June 2000, when I and the Swedish webmaster Åke Runnman started the EVAA Web Site, I have also compiled and reported the European Records on EVAA/EMA Web Site. In 2012, we started the Data Base of the European Records/Best Performances in EVAA Website. I really believe that the Data Base and the EMA Record Group with me, Giusy Lacava from Italy and Fernando Marquina from Spain has been a step in the right direction in pace with times. I will also continue to publish my Record lists with my comments on the EMA Web Site. Please check the list given below and help us in the Record Group to make it more complete. In 2018, up to April 30, we have registered 33 European Indoor Records and 21 of these also are world records. This is 2 more European Indoor Records compared with 2017 but substantially less Indoor Records than 2016 and the years before. In the European Masters Indoors Championships in Madrid March 19-24 2018 we registered 16 European Records (3 outdoors), 11 World Records (2 outdoors) and 74 Championships records (15 outdoors). We have 4 more results (a) which shall be ratified as European Records when/if all record forms/documents are received and ratified by EMA. In 2017, up to December 31 we registered 32 European Indoor Records and 20 of these also were World Records. And in 2016, up to December 31 we registered 47 European Indoor Records (25 World Records), in 2015 50 European Indoor Records (32 World Records), in 2014 77 European Indoor Records (50 World Records) and in 2013 40 European Indoor Record (20 World Records). In the World Masters Championships Indoors (WMACI) in Daegu, Korea in March 2017 we noted 12 European records and 9 of these records also are world records. Totally it was 23 world records in Daegu. It's not at all as many records as in previous World Masters Championships Indoors. In WMACI in Budapest 2014 we noted 47 European records and 53 world records and in WMACI in Jyväskylä 2012 47 European records and 25 world records. In the European Master Championships indoors in Ancona March 29 to April 4 2016 we noted 25 European Indoor Records and 13 of these records also were World Records. This is more records compared to EMC Indoors in Torun, POL March 23-28, 2015 when we noted 20 European Indoor Records (14 World Records. The high-performance level in Ancona 2016 further is confirmed of the fact that it was no less than 218 Championships Records. Remember when you report new Pentathlon Records to include the results for all the five events and not only the points (see in the new EMA application). From January 2014, we also have new age factors for scoring of some Combined Events. All records which are affected by the new age factors for Pentathlon Indoors are updated. Observe that for Weight Throw it always must be Weight Throw indoors, not outdoors in an Indoor Championship!! Only results with all tasks reported (Birth Date, Date and Place for the Competition) are approved as official records. Only electronically timing is accepted for all distances in the Record List. For distances from 200m and more the track round must be 220yards (201.168m) or shorter. New records can most easily be reported by the EMA Record Application! Take copies of the application from the EMA Web Site and also send a copy of the result lists to us, preferable by mail as an attachment. If the European Record also is a World Record, I will inform the WMA Records Chairperson, for their approval. A copy of “photo finish” and “zero control test” are required for events with Fully Automatic Timing. “Zero control test” means that the Record Application must be accompanied by an electronic photo of the gun shot that shows that the clock starts just when you see the mouth of the flame, ie, one must above all prove that the clock does not start later, which would provide for a better time. Results from European Masters Championships – EMC (Stadia/Non-Stadia/Indoors) and results from WMA Championships are not necessary to report to EMA. We in the Record Working Team also have control over the results from international competitions sanctioned by IAAF or EAA and figuring in the IAAF and EAA Calendars. If IAAF and EAA accept results that are made in accordance with their regulations, we need no further checks. # = the track round is more than 220 yards (201.168m) (no official record). * = new records registered 2017 * = new records registered 2018 a) = the record will be ratified when/if all record forms are received and registered by EMA EMC = record noted in European Masters Athletic • European Veteran Indoor Records 2004 25
1 EUROPEAN VETERAN INDOOR RECORDS 2010 compiled by Ivar Söderlind, statistician of EVAA 31.01.2011 In 2010, up to December 31, I have registered 51 new European Indoor Records and 38 of these records also are World Records or better than the official World Records. Moreover I have until January 31 2011 noted 2 European Indoor Records (in Triple Jump) and both are World Records. My statistician colleagues Ove Edlund, Sweden and Bernd Rehpenning, Germany have updated the Records for Pentathlon indoors scored with the new age factors from 2010. Remember when you report new Pentathlon Records: include the results for all the five events and not only the points!!! Observe that for Weight Throw it always must be Weight Throw indoors, not outdoors in an Indoor Championship!! When two or more results are noted in one age group and event the first noted result is the official record. Only results with all tasks reported (Birth Date, Date and Place for the Competition) are approved as official records. Only electronically timing is accepted for distances up to and including 400m. For distances from 200m and more the track round must be 220yards (201.168m) or shorter. Please check the list given below and help me to make it more complete. All new records must be reported by a Record Application (preferably EVAA:s Record Application)! Take copies of the application from the EVAA Web Site and also send me a copy of the result lists. Results from European Veteran Championships - EVAC (Stadia/Non Stadia/Indoors) and results from WMA Championships are not necessary to report to me.
