Dates for Little Leigh Website your Diary

The new village web site is up and running at www.littleleigh.org. This has been completely redesign ed and will display properly on a full range of devices such as computer, tablets, mobile phones etc. 4th Jan-WI The principle purpose of the site is to meet the Council obligations to open government, listing 12th Jan– Parish meeting agendas, minutes and financial expenditure and identifying your Parish councillors and how Council to contact them. 16th Jan–Drop-in We still have a number of things to add to the site which will be rolled out in the next few months. This 23rd Jan -Knit and will include a diary of the village hall bookings and village events. We are investigating a system for Knatter booking the village hall through the web. 25th Jan– Coffee Morning Anyone familiar with the old village web site will notice that there was a lot of village history contained on the site. This has not been carried over to the new web site as we do not have the resources to 6th Feb– Drop-In manage it. The information is not lost as it will be moved to the Wikipedia page for Little Leigh in due course. This is a much more sustainable and democratic arrangement as anyone can register to put 8th Feb-WI information on Wikipedia. Hopefully the content will grow and become much more dynamic than we 11th Feb– Film have been able to sustain to date. Club

I invite anyone who would like to become involved in maintaining the Little Leigh content on Wikipedia 1st March– WI to contact me via [email protected] if they want to know more. Bob King

Village Hall Sound System Installed

A surround sound music system has been bought and installed in the village hall. This consists of reasonably powerfull amplifier, five large speakers, a dvd player and the required wiring. This can be connected to the film projector and was run in to general approval on the last film night giving a much clearer sur- round sound (just like at the cinema) than we have previously been used to.

The DVD player will also play CDs and a bluetooth device has been added to enable music to be played wirelessly from mobile phones and tablets and other bluetooth enabled devices. This will allow people booking the hall for social events to bring and play their own music with the minimum amount of fuss and no need to connect any wires. The hall has a PRS licence to play recorded music so there is nothing to stop it being fully used.

The equipment is fairly simple to use and instructions will be posted by on the wall near the amplifier on how to con- nect to the bluetooth and play dvds and cds. Bob King
