PRODUCTION BIOS

MICHAEL PRUPAS (Executive Producer) – Michael Prupas, President and CEO of Muse Entertainment Enterprises, is a 28-year veteran of the film and television industries. He practiced entertainment law for 20 years, including 15 years as a senior partner at the law firm Heenan Blaikie. Prupas was the head of the firm’s entertainment law practice, which is the largest in Canada.

With his extensive experience in international production financing as well as legal and business affairs, Prupas launched Muse Entertainment Enterprises in June 1998, which has quickly become one of the major independent production companies in Canada. In 2000, he set up Muse Distribution International, which represents Muse Entertainment and other independent Canadian producers at major markets and brings Canadian programs to audiences worldwide.

In 2005, Prupas he executive produced two award-winning television mini-series: “Human Trafficking,” about the global reach of sex slavery directed by Christian Duguay and starring , Mira Sorvino, and Rémy Girard, as well as “Answered by Fire,” about the violent creation of East Timor. Prupas also executive produced three seasons worth of episodes of the award-winning dramatic series “This is Wonderland,” which has been sold for broadcast in over 100 territories.

In 2007, he produced the feature film “The Deal,” starring William H. Macy and Meg Ryan, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Other TV movies he has produced or exeutive produced include “Too Young to Marry,” “I Me Wed,” “Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde,” “Girl’s Best Friend,” “Swamp Devil” and “Infected.” He has worked with a myriad of successful actors, including Tom Skeritt, Erica Durance, , Isabella Rossellini, Bill Pullman, Linda Hamilton and Bob Hoskins.

Prupas established the first entertainment law course at McGill University, which he taught from 1997-2002. He coached a minor league baseball team for five years, served on the Board of Trustees of the Banff Television Festival and sits on the Board of Advisors of the Just for Laughs comedy festival and on the finance committee of the Association des producteurs de film et de télévision du Québec.

GRAEME CAMPBELL (Director) – Graeme Campbell has been writing and directing movies and television for more than 20 years. He started off making documentaries, but got his first break with the controversial feature “Murder One,” released by Miramax in 1988. Starring Henry Thomas, the film is an uncompromising portrayal of a horrific crime spree gone wrong. (more)

This led to another controversial true crime story, “Deadly Betrayal: The Bruce Curtis Story” for NBC, about the poisonous friendship between two teens. It caused Scott Watkins of to write “Through the creative and brilliant direction of Graeme Campbell, the viewer is taken on a roller coaster ride through hell. Using flashbacks, tense courtroom drama and frighteningly vivid jail scenes, Campbell and cast tell a riveting story.”

Although known in his early career for his handling of dark subject matter, Campbell has directed films in many genres, lately many uplifting ones. He has a passion for music and music stories which has led to “Out of Sync,” a musical comedy for VH-1 and nearly half of the episodes of “Instant Star” for The N over the last four seasons. “There aren’t many good dramas for teenagers. No, The O.C. doesn’t count, people. Instant Star does,” the Palm Beach Post wrote.

Campbell’s gift with actors is evident in such films as “Unforgivable,” starring the late John Ritter, “directed with a feeling for domestic Gothic by Graeme Campbell” according to Lynne Heffley of the LA Times. He has worked with some of the best actors in the business, such as George C. Scott, Ellen Page, Rachel McAdams, William Shatner, Mercedes Ruehl, and Elisha Cuthbert, among others.

“Old Fashioned Thanksgiving” reunites him with Tatiany Maslany and Kristopher Turner, two of the cast of “Instant Sta.”

He has just completed “Everest,” an action packed four hour mini series about the first Canadians’ harrowing assent of Mt. Everest in 1982. The film is set to air in September. Currently, he is directing two episodes of “Degrassi: The Next Generation” and he has optioned the rights to “Charmed” by acclaimed Young Adult novelist Carrie Mac.

Graeme Campbell lives in Toronto with his wife Gina, and two teenage children, Max and Emilie.

SHELLEY EVANS (Writer) – Shelley Evans has written more than fifteen teleplays for ABC, CBS, Showtime, USA and Lifetime Television. Her produced television movies have starred Anne Heche, Josh Brolin, James Caan, Candice Bergen and Mercedes Ruehl, among others. “One Kill,” produced by CBS Productions for Showtime in 2000, was nominated for an Edgar Allen Poe Award, and “A Girl Like Me,” produced by Braun Entertainment for Lifetime Television in 2006, won a GLAD award. She lives with her family in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
