Recalls of Magic Wands, Bassinets, and Tricycles

Toysmith is recalling about 58,000 fuchsia-colored Light- Up Magic Wands topped with a flashing star which makes noise. The battery cover can detach and expose the button-cell batteries, posing choking and ingestion hazards to young children. The recalled wands have a manufacturing date code printed in white on the bottom portion of the wand. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled magic wands and return them to store where purchased for a refund. These wands were sold at Carter’s stores and various toy, grocery, hobby, and gift retailers from June 2018 through Oct. 2019 for about $5. DaVinci is recalling about 3,000 wooden Bailey Bassinets for infants. The bassinet’s support legs can break, posing a fall hazard to babies. The model number “0934” is printed on a white label attached to the mattress support board and on the external product package. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bassinets and contact DaVinci for a free repair kit. DaVinci has received 19 reports of the bassinet legs breaking. No injuries have been reported. The bassinets were sold online at Amazon.com, Buybuybaby.com, Target.com, JCPenny.com, and other online retailers from Aug. 2018 through Sep. 2019 for about $110. The Travis County Work-Based Learning/Summer Youth Employment Program (WBL/SYEP) is now accepting applications for Summer 2020 paid employment opportunities. The program is designed for Travis County youth ages 14-17 to develop competence and confidence as well as workplace skills in a “real-world of work” environment. Youth will be exposed to career awareness and exploration while developing their career plans and a commitment to lifelong learning. Youth have the opportunity to interact with positive, successful adult role models who provide guidance in setting and achieving goals. WBL/SYEP also serves youth with disabilities up to age 22.

Program requirements include: ● Must be currently enrolled and attending school in Travis County ● Must have a valid current school year Student ID or Report Card ● Must have a Social Security card ● Must be 14 years of age by April 1, 2020 ● Must complete 15 hours of Job Readiness Training
