The family Cylindrotomidae has a distinctive morphological feature, an elongated body compared with their own wings, and a total of 70 species are widely distributed except the African Continent. This group is comprised of two subfamily, Cylindrotominae and Stibadocerinae, which is only distributed in the Southern Hemisphere with 20 recorded species. Genus Liogma Osten Sacken, 1869 belongs to Cylindrotominae, which has 50 described species in the world. Six species of this genus are recorded, and five species are distributed in East Asia and one in North America. Their larvae inhabit moist environments such as mosses on rocks or ground. Previously, Liogma mikado (Alexander, 1919) was only reported in Far East Russia and Japan. In this study, we present genus Liogma for the first time in Korea and its species L. mikado is newly added in Korean fauna. This is the second Cylindrotomidae species recorded from Korea followed by glabrata (Meigen, 1818). Materials and Methods

Adult crane were collected in 2019–2020 by Malaise traps or sweep net in Gangwon-do, Korea and specimens were preserved in 80% ethanol. Later, genitalia of male was cleared overnight in approximately 10% KOH and kept in microvial with glycerol. A wing and antenna were mounted on slide with Euparal. Adult specimens were studied with an Olympus SZ51 dissecting microscope. Photographs for this presentation were taken with a digital camera Nikon Z7 through Nikon AF Micro NIKKOR 105mm F2.8D. Specimens are deposited at the Korea University’s entomological collection.

Diagnosis for genus. Medium-sized crane . Antennae 16-segmented, often nodulous, almost cordate in male. Prescutum pale yellow with three black stripes. Three branches of M reaching wing margin. Aedeagus tripartite. Cerci smooth, rounded blade shaped.

Liogma mikado (Alexander, 1919)

Diagnosis. Yellow and dark brown species. Antennae dark brown and 16-segmented. Wings unpatterned except pale stigma. Three branches of M reaching wing margin. Male genitalia dark brown. Posterior margin of ninth tergite with bifid projection at middle. Aedeagus trifid at tip; numerous spine structures on ventral face.
