DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1

Upon arrival in Edinburgh, you’ll be met by your guide and escorted to your hotel in the heart of the city. Check in and enjoy the rest of the day to wander about on your own. The Scottish capital is a hodgepodge of rustic streets that harken back to the medieval era and they’re right outside your hotel waiting to be explored. Regroup for dinner at the hotel and use the opportunity to get to know your fellow travelers.

Day 2

After breakfast set off on a full-day discovery of Edinburgh. Begin with a stroll down Victoria Street, a favorite among locals who mix and mingle at the many cafés and pubs. Join the fun before heading to mighty Edinburgh Castle. Tour the historic stronghold and hear tales of kings, heroes, and prisoners who once lived inside its great walls. Continue on to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, official Scottish residence of Her Majesty The Queen. Tour the apartments; learn about the palace’s turbulent history; and view its Royal Collection of art. Later, enjoy a special dinner treat—a locally sourced Scottish meal at the Forage and Chatter Restaurant.

Day 3

Today, you’ll discover one of Edinburgh’s hidden corners. The Real Mary King’s Close is a labyrinth of passageways hidden beneath the busy Royal Mile. It also happens to boast the city’s best-preserved 17th- century homes and buildings. Set off on foot and hear stories of those who lived and worked here centuries ago. Return to Old for a Foodie Walk featuring five delicious stops and a Scottish Whisky tasting at a historic pub. There’s no finer way to get to know the real Scotland than by chatting it up with the locals at their favorite establishments. Dinner is on your own tonight and there’s no shortage of great options.

Day 4

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before spending your morning doing a little last-minute shopping or sightseeing before heading to the airport to catch your flight to Dublin. Upon arrival in Dublin, you’ll be shown to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day to explore at your leisure or relax in anticipation of the voyage ahead. Dinner is on your own and you’ll find plenty of great choices in the Irish capital.

Day 5

Awaken to breakfast at the hotel and enjoy some free time for a little exploring. Regroup at the appointed hour and head to the to board your Azamara® cruise ship. Rest assured, further adventures and great discoveries lie ahead.
