2017 Annual Report “AITC has given me the tools, training and motivation to transform my teaching. In the ten years since partnering with AITC my students have reaped untold benefits.” – Terry Jackson, Grade 3 Teacher,Hugh Cairns School

I am honoured that teachers like Terry Jackson choose to be involved with Agriculture in the Classroom SK. It is thanks to teachers like her, that kids today are discovering their personal connection to agriculture.

In a complex and changing world, it is more important than ever to inspire the next generation to care about the food they eat, where it was grown, and the farmers who grew it.

We were founded on the belief that educating youth about agriculture requires strong partnerships with the education and agriculture communities. As I reflect on 2017, I realize that we always have someone we can count on - to pilot a resource, host an event, provide technical advice, volunteer last minute and so much more. This, more than the number of students we reach, is a sign of success.

HELLO! THANK YOU to my colleagues who put up with my endless ideas, my board for trusting me to make decisions, our teachers who choose to spend their limited school hours teaching about agriculture, and our many funders, partners and volunteers who give us the resources we need. Together we are telling the story of agriculture.
