Officials of the University and Academic Units 55 My leadership commenced in September of 2012, not with MESSAGE FROM THE a big budget but with a big dream that was initiated and set by the immediate past leadership. Having shared with that dream, the current administration single-mindedly pursued CHANCELLOR its realization, with passion and relentless enthusiasm. After almost five years, the hard work, honesty, commitment and transparency paid-off. The once-muddy campus roads are now paved, the classes held under the trees are gone, the Our society today is at a confusing crossroad. The blinding externally-funded research invitations come in chain, the influx of technology may have enhanced more and faster once-ignored PRC results are the most watched eventuality by activities that linked people all over the world closer but, stakeholders, the graduation rites that shy away from inviting with similar speed, has also eroded many values and known dignitaries now boast of having invited, among others, corrupted the moral fiber held dearly by every race and the Vice President of the country, then a Congresswoman. society. OUR HIGHEST PRIORITY is preparing everybody towards a holistic service of excellence.

With all these, this leadership is confident that it can provide our youth an alternative route in this confusing crossroad. It shall be a route whose end will preserve the moral fibers of our society amidst changing times and one that promotes right values to our youth. We consider these as MSU-N’s modest contribution in building the future of this and the next generations. MILESTONES are obviously bannered by this academic institution in number of infrastructures, research projects, extension activities, in the quantity of production in its income-generating ventures and in the quality of instruction. But let no one forget that the best of them all is in the preservation of humanity, as meant and purposed by God.

MSUN maintains fishery Tilapia commodities that are of high Oreochromis niloticus commercial value and economic broodstock importance. Some commodities are produced commercially such as the genetically improved tilapia (GET) EXCEL, milkfish and siganids. In various experimental stages towards hatchery establishment are the grouper, abalone, sea cucumber, pigek and Bangus pijanga. Due to some constraints, production of giant tiger shrimp, Chanos chanos mudcrab and fresh water shrimp is put on hold. The different colleges are also engaged in small-scale commercial food production including the processed fish products by the School of Marine Fisheries and Technology and several fresh and organic foodstuff by the College of Agriculture and Kitong Forestry.
