Norwegian Travel Workshop 2016 Pre and post tours - overview

Below is a brief overview with the main highlights of all the pre and post tours on which you can register. Full description of the tours are found in the Pre and Post Tours online catalogue. Programmes may be subject to change.

PRE TOURS:

PRE TOUR A – 8th-11th of April: Food safari in Gudbrandsdalen vallley Places: The Gudbransdalen Valley: , Ro, Espedalen Highlights: Visit historic mountain farms, taste and discover local food, learn about the Pilgrim trail, visit the famous Maihaugen outdoor museum and the Ringebu Stave Church.

PRE TOUR B – 8th-11th of April: Sustainable adventure route from to the Norwegian fjords Places: Oslo, Flå, Geilo, Flåm, Gudvangen, Voss Highlights: Visit the cobalt mines at Blaafarveværket, spot a bear at the bear park Bjørneparken, stay in Geilo National Park Village, learn about nature & culture of the fjord and mountain region at the Hardangervidda Nature Centre and admire the Sognefjord.

PRE TOUR C – 7th-11th of April: Fjords and islands Places: Ålesund, Geiranger, Loen, Norangsdalen valley, Hjørundfjord, Sunnmøre Alps Highlights: Relax in the SPA at hotel Union & at Hotel Alexandra, enjoy a scenic waterfall path, a fjord cruise, a biking tour. Visit the historical Union Øye Hotel, a fishing village and the Art Nouveau Centre.

PRE TOUR D – 7th-11th of April: Local culture and history across the Places: , Stiklestad, Inderøy, , Bodø Highlights: Visit the Nidaros Cathedral and get a tour of the old city of Trondheim. Enjoy local food and stop at local farms located on The Golden Road. Visit a Sami settlement and cross the Arctic Circle!

PRE TOUR E – 7th-11th of April: Winter adventures in Senja, the Lyngen Alps and the Tromsø area Places: Senja, Tromsø, Lyngen Highlights: Sightseeing in Tromsø. Drive along the National tourist road of Senja, enjoy water activities such as kayaking, fishing and RIB-boat as well as Sami activities such as sledding, dog sledding and snowmobile. Visit the world northernmost distillery and try accommodation in Lavvo! POST TOURS:

POST TOUR F – 14th-17th of April: and adventures on the Fjord Coast Places: Bergen, Værlandet & Bulandet archipelago, Florø, Grotlesanden beach, Knutholmen. Highlights: Sightseeing in the Hanseatic Bergen. Join a sea eagle safari, a guided bike trip, a visit to a local brewery, a fishing village and try out sea kayaking, hiking and finally relax in a SPA.

POST TOUR G – 14th-17th of April: Explore two seasons in Trøndelag in three days Places: Trondheim, Røros, Dovrefjell Highlights: City sightseeing Trondheim and the Nidaros Cathedral. Stay at a mountain lodge, join a musk-ox winter safari on dog sledge, enjoy a food safari in Røros, try out snow scooter or ATV and visit a local brewery.

POST TOUR H – 14th-17th of April: – Contrast and diversity from mountain to sea Places: Mosjøen, Mo i Rana, Vega islands, Brønnøysund Highlights: Explore one of the world’s most visited Limestone caves, get a historical guiding in Mosjøen, visit a 12th century manor and its church, learn about the Eider duck history and hike to Torghatten – the famous mountain with a hole right through it!
