Jordan accounts almost one-fourth of Guimaras Live births Date of Release: April 21, 2020 Reference No. 2020-24

Guimaras province registered 1,259 live births by Usual Residence of Mother during the 1st to 2nd quarters of 2019, almost one-fourth or 24.86 percent were from the municipality of Jordan, closely followed by Buenavista and contributing 23.91 percent and 21.45 percent, respectively, while San Lorezo and municipalities contributed the least with 16.76 percent and 13.03 percent, respectively. Sibunag 164 85 79 3.66 100:93 The four municipalities which registered more male live births than female include: Buenavista with a gender gap of 6.31 percentage points and a sex ratio at birth of 100 males per 88 females; Jordan and Nueva Valencia municipalities recorded gender gaps of 4.79 and 4.44 percentage points, respectively and sex ratio of 100 males to 91 females each. Sibunag municipality however, registered the least gender gap of 3.66 percentage points, higher than the provincial gender gap of 2.62 percentage points. Sibunag recorded a sex ratio at birth of 100 males per 93 females. See Table 1
