This outline should be used for those transferring from HVCC into the Siena College Sociology major.

Points to keep in mind:

 Grades of C or better will transfer.  Any 300-level course must be taken at Siena or another four-year accredited institution.  Half of your major must be completed at Siena College.  Students transferring with 24 or more credits are not required to complete Siena’s First Year Seminar (6 credits), however, check with Siena admissions for acceptable substitutions.  Students are required to complete four Franciscan Concern courses in the areas of diversity, heritage, nature, and social justice. These courses can be taken at HVCC and transfer into Siena. For a complete list of additional acceptable substitutions, see www.siena.edu/transfer under the HVCC Guideline section, Franciscan Concern substitutions  Substitutions for courses may be made by the Siena College Assistant Deans where they deem appropriate.

Siena College reserves the right to review the final evaluation of transfer credits. Please contact the Office of Admissions at 1-888-AT-SIENA with any questions or to make an appointment for a tentative credit evaluation and/or course advisement.
