Our mission is: 1. To promote, advance, and encourage the sport of Corinthian or amateur sailing, particularly of racing and cruising. 2. To provide club, educational, social, mooring, cruising, and racing facili- ties for its members. 3. To hold and take part in races and regattas with other yacht cubs and associate with them. 4. To develop the friendship, sportsmanship, and good fellowship of its members and the general public. 5. To make the sailing facilities of the Portland area more popular, and utilize their possibilities. 6. To take part in and support other outdoor sports in the Pacific Northwest. 7. To maintain its position as a small boat club and to encourage develop- ment of the centerboard classes. With over 350 private members WSC hosts an active racing, cruising, and social schedule throughout the entire year. The privately owned and promoted fleets include the , , and the O’day Daysailer. Racing within the fleets includes spring, summer I, summer II, fall, winter, and frostbite series. Novices to world-class sailors are welcomed to participate in club racing. In addition, WSC is home to one of the largest learn to sail programs in the Pacific Northwest. Over 800 adult and youth participants enroll in summer learn to sail and adventure camps each year. After school sailing programs for both beginner and advanced youth sailors are available during the spring, fall, and winter. The facilities at WSC include dry moorage, wet moorage, dock moorage, rest room and shower facilities, private boat ramp, and a state of the art floating sailing facility and social clubhouse (constructed in 2016).
