In celebration of Audible’s 20th anniversary and 10 years of being headquartered in Newark, Audible launched its “Project Listen Up” initiative in November, giving each Newark high school student and teacher a free year of Audible membership, an Amazon Fire tablet, headphones, and a bundle of more than 150 “recommended reading” titles selected by Newark educators. Audible moved to Newark with a vision to truly be a part of a great city’s turnaround, and for the last 10 years, we’ve worked to realize that vision through efforts on behalf of Newark students as well as a continued focus on recruiting tech companies to the city. “Project Listen Up” exemplifies our commitment to Newark by leveraging our innovative culture and our product as a vehicle for enhancing the lives of those who live in the community we are based in.
