Young Carers Individual PSE days Young Carer, Maesteg champions support Comprehensive School
Super School Shout outs! Maesteg Comprehensive School Maesteg have six young carers receiving one to one support so far. We also did four assemblies for the school to ensure all pupils are aware of what a young carer is. In addition to this, we run a young carers drop-in one lunch time per week within the school.
Cynffig Comprehensive School Cynffig Comprehensive School have set up and continue to run a weekly young carers group. In addition to this, we did a PSE day for all year 10 and 11 pupils to raise awareness of young carers.

Pil PrimarySchool We delivered a whole school assembly where the pupils learned about what a young carer is. Pil Primary are also starting a young carers group in January 2018. This term, assemblies have also been delivered in: Nottage Primary School Afon-y-felin Primary School Young carers story writing group As a result of the assemblies done in schools at least 10 children have identified themselves as young carers.
Joining us next term: Porthcawl Comprehensive School
Young Carers storybook Young Carers in Bridgend have been working with an author who is helped them to write a children’s book to raise awareness of young carers. This book will be published in January 2018 and a copy will be given to every primary school in Bridgend. A big thank you to all of the primary schools that worked with us to help us get the book just right.
