The Miss Apple Festival Pageant 2001 The Miss Apple Festival Pageant 2001 2000 Miss Apple Festival Lori Twenhafel Sponsored by Murphysboro union Apple Festival PLANTERS BANK 2001 - 50 Years of Appletime Tradition Lori Twenhafel, Miss Apple Festival 2000, is the 19 year-old daughter of Roger & Terri Twenhafel of Murphysboro. As a pre-medicine and biology student at W estminster College in Fulton, M issouri, she plans to obtain her master’s degree in genetic counseling. Selected as one of W estminster’s Most Outstanding Women, Lori has been the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards. She is on the Dean’s List, is a member of Kappa Alpha Thea Sorority, and is active in many of the college’s groups and organizations. First held in 1987 to raise money for the runners-up in the Miss Apple Festival Pageant, the Scholarship Tea has become an annual event.
