About the CSNA Library The CSNA Library was established when the association was organized in 1947 as one of its key educational programs. The first CSNA Librarian was Stewart J. Bingham, who served from 1947 to 1961. Mrs. Eldon (Dorothy) Beaulieu served as Librarian from 1961 until the 1990s. When she retired, plans to relocate and recatalog the library moved slowly until 2002, when Ruth Phillips agreed to take over the position. Ruth moved the CSNA Library into her home and arranged its unpacking and shelving. She has worked with other members to have the catalog entered into a computer system so that catalogs and web pages showing the Library’s contents can be kept current. In January 2003, the CSNA Library was again available. When Ruth retired, the Library moved to Vallejo. The Library contains over 1,300 volumes on numismatics of all eras and all parts of the world, including many hundreds of out-of-print books. It continues to be one of the most important parts of CSNA’s educational benefits and assets for CSNA members.
