Desktop Views You can click and drag icons to any location on your FirstClass desktop, or look under View to set other options such as:

Registering FC as the Default Mail Client Choosing this option will automatically make your computer open a FirstClass message when you click an email link on a webpage. • Choose Edit > Preferences. • Select the General tab. • Place a check in Register FirstClass as Default Mail Client. • Click Apply or OK before closing the window.

Setting the Default Text Font, Size, Color The default font for all of your outgoing is Arial 10-point. Some readers may find this font too small. • Choose Edit > Preferences. • Select the Content tab . • Select the Text Styles tab. • Use the drop down arrows to select your default font, size, or color. • Click Apply or OK before closing the window.

Setting the Download Location for Attachments When saving an attachment, you can pre-select a location in which to save them. • Choose Edit > Preferences. • Select the General tab. • Click the Browse button under the Download Folder box. • Select a location on your computer for downloaded attachments.. • (suggestions: your computer's desktop; your My Documents folder; make a new folder especially for FirstClass attachments in an easily accessible location) • Click Apply or OK before closing the window.

Using FirstClass at Home and Other Remote Locations There are two ways to use FirstClass from a remote location. You can download the program to your home computer, or use the web-based version from any -ready computer. The web-based version does not offer all of options available in the program version.

Customizing Toolbars You can customize the toolbars in each of the FirstClass windows by adding or deleting icons. • Choose View > Toolbars > Customize Toolbars. • Use the drop down arrow in Category box to locate icon(s) you wish to add. • Open FirstClass window in which you want the icon to appear (Desktop, Mailbox, etc.) • Drag the icon from the Customize Toolbar window to desired location on the toolbar row. • To delete a toolbar icon, drag the icon from toolbar row back to the Customize Toolbars window.
