01 New website appearance for the and its brands: z.lighting as a common URL

• Zumtobel Group optimises digital offering for customers • z.lighting: new common URL • Experiencing individual brand worlds in continuous customer journey • Inspiration of light: new websites focus on strong visual impressions

Dornbirn, – The website of the Zumtobel Group and its Thorn and Zumtobel brands – the latter two initially as a beta launch – are presented in a new look and a uniform website architecture. z.lighting, the new common URL, will provide easier access to the company Zumtobel Group and at the same time also to its individual brands. The Zumtobel Group website provides the corporate infrastructure and now also serves as the connecting element between the digital brand presences of the lighting group. Featuring more images as an inspiring component, the new websites support quick and easy use and invite the user to follow intuitively.

“With the new websites for the Zumtobel Group, we have taken a significant step towards optimising the digital offering for our customers. We now offer our customers much simpler interaction, starting from the Group across the entire product portfolio of our brands, which are presented within a common framework while also having an individual appearance. The new digital lighting experience in its entirety shows what we stand for – extensive expertise built over decades and future-oriented lighting solutions,” says Zumtobel Group CEO Alfred Felder.

z.lighting: We show light The composition of the new z.lighting URL consists of the element “Z”, for Zumtobel and thus the origin of the company – founded by Dr. Walter Zumtobel 70 years ago – and the term “lighting” that reflects the Zumtobel Group’s core business, light.

Showing light, using light as a source of inspiration, making light an experience – all of that digitally – these are the ideas that guide the new optical appearance of the websites. Light as a central element is shown in a wide range of images, all of which are part of the brands’ own repertoire reflecting timeless quality, in analogy to the products of the brands.

“The goal of the project was to bring the Zumtobel Group and its brands Thorn and Zumtobel onto one well-crafted and visually compelling digital platform. The new digital home provides information in a visual and contextual way, while eliminating clutter and visual noise. Visually impactful application photography allows visitors to better understand how each product can be applied, providing inspiration and elevating the overall look and feel,” say UX and design partners Anton&Irene, New York.

The brand world experience Maintaining the individuality of the brands, a coherent story between Thorn and Zumtobel products has emerged, offering a continuous customer journey and an easy customer interface. The visual identifiers for the brands are indicated by colour. The section “News & Insights” and the search function (News, Products) are globally designed. 02

“Now that everything is under one roof, visitors can browse different products across the different brands in one unified framework, allowing for the different Zumtobel Group brands to co-exist, giving visitors a greater understanding of the entire product portfolio,” say Anton&Irene.
