Creating an Apple ID/Downloading Apps

Function: If you haven’t yet created an Apple ID, you’ll need one in order to download apps to your iPad. You can create one when you set up a device or through your device’s settings.

● Create when you set up a device or through the Settings App:

If you haven’t set up your iPad, you will be prompted to enter or create your Apple ID when setting up the new device. Or, you can enter the Apple ID through your Settings app. If you don't have an Apple ID, you can create a new one:

First, Click on Settings and then Sign in to your iPad. Then,

1. Tap don't have an Apple ID or forgot it. This is where you can choose to create a new Apple ID, or help you to recall an existing ID. If you have an iPhone or iPad already, it is likely that you have an existing Apple ID. 2. To create a new Apple ID, first you will be prompted to enter your birthday and then your first and last name. 3. Then, you can either use an existing email address - like a gmail, yahoo or outlook address -- or you can tap Create a Free iCloud email address. 4. Enter your email, and create a password. The email address you provide will be your new Apple ID. 5. You’ll then be prompted to enter 3 security questions and answers. 6. Read the Terms and Conditions and Apple Privacy Policy, then tap Agree to Terms and Conditions. Tap Next. 7. Once you’ve done this, your iCloud account will be set up on the iPad. 8. You will then need to enter your credit card and billing information, which will be required for some App downloads. You will not be charged until you make a purchase, but app downloads require that you have an account listed. You can change or remove your payment details later. 9. The Apple ID will be required for you to download necessary apps on your iPad.

*When you first attempt to download an app, and if you haven’t entered any payment information, you will need review your account and add the payment information. -To do this, you’ll first need to tap on the App Store. -Then, search for the app you’d like to download. -Tap Get and then Use Existing Apple ID -You will be prompted to Sign in to the iTunes Store with ID and password you just created -If this is the first app you’re downloading, you’ll be prompted to Review your account. -Tap Agree to Terms and Conditions and then tap Next -This is where you’ll complete your Apple ID set up by entering your payment information. Remember that you will not be charged for anything until you make a purchase. The apps we’ll be using are free, but the system still requires that you enter payment information for any in- app purchases.
