TWO-TIME CHAMPION FERRER RETURNS TO RICOH OPEN

 DAY 4 PREVIEW: No. 1 seed returns to the lawns of Autotron Rosmalen on Thursday for his opening match at the Ricoh Open. The two-time champion meets fell 5-foot-9 player on Centre Court for a spot in the quarter-finals. Ferrer won the ’s-Hertogenbosch title in 2008 and 2012, but lost to Xavier Malisse in the first round of his most recent appearance in 2013. The 34-year-old Spaniard has yet to reach a final in 2016 – his longest drought to start a season since 2006.

Also on Centre Court, No. 3 seed Ivo Karlovic faces Dutch wild card . Karlovic has hit an unprecedented 10,710 aces during his career, and the 6-foot-11 Croat’s serve is especially dangerous on grass. Karlovic struck 45 aces to beat Tomas Berdych in Halle last June, setting a new record for best- of-three-set matches. Sijsling is trying to reach his first quarter-final since in February 2015.

On Court 1, 33-year-olds Gilles Muller and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez go head to head, then Frenchman meets 256th-ranked qualifier . The 20-year-old Medvedev defeated on Tuesday for the first ATP World Tour victory of his career.
