TREE EDUCATION Ferguson Township is a Tree City USA, designated so by the Arbor Day Foundation.

To qualify as a Tree City USA community, Ferguson Township meets four standards established by the Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters. The Arbor Day Foundation set these standards to ensure that every qualifying community would have a viable tree management program and that no community would be excluded because of size.

The Township has met these four standards:

Named a tree board or department. “Someone must be legally responsible for the care of all trees on city- or town-owned property.” In the Township’s case, we have a full-time Arborist and a Tree Commission of five members.

Adopted a Tree Ordinance.
