The T-Mac Alliance

Helping Others Understand & Make a Difference

Project Mission: To better educate a worldwide audience about the plight in Darfur and utilize recognizable NBA Athletes to bring attention and raise funds for improvement efforts.

Vehicles for Change: – Film – Fundraising – Call to Action – Cause Marketing – Sister School Program Launch – NBA Darfur Week – Continued Education and Development Film Project Development Project Snapshot: In August 2007, NBA star Tracy McGrady journeyed to refugee camps in the Darfur region of Africa. A first hand account of his expedition was filmed by DoubleWide Media and will tell of the stories and personal sacrifice he encountered. McGrady has personally funded this project and is now looking to initiate more activity from his fellow players and the NBA. By raising awareness and launching a sister school program here in the US, we can help provide long-term solutions to the living conditions and genocide in Darfur.

Film Applications: • Film Feature – Shot in HD; Targeting HBO/Showtime, Independent release, or other • Selected Documentary pieces with potential for commercial footage () • Expose feature in National Programming – targeting Oprah, 20/20, HBO’s Real Sports • Positioned as the beacon of the project – NBA Darfur week, premiere week March 08’ • Secure in-theatre advertising and in store real estate and collateral in conjunction with distribution deal NBA Initiative The NBA partnership with the TMAC Alliance would target a specific set of objectives: 1. Launch the Sister School Initiative (Target NBA DARFUR WEEK March 2-9, 2008) • This program will actively involved 12 players from around the NBA who have dedicated time, money and effort in developing the SSI program to build and develop new primary schools and education programs in Darfur. The group of NBA players have been solicited personally by Tracy McGrady and are dedicated to activities in their respective NBA cities. • TMAC Alliance is committing to give a decent education to every kid in Darfurian refugee camps in Chad. The idea is that selected players (12 total) from around the NBA, commits – like Tracy McGrady to be a “ Principal” in this initiative. The “Principals” will select either their own high school or a high school in the city they play in now to be a sister school with a school in one of the refugee camps in Chad. The “Principals” will commit to core funding (desired $75K) of a new primary school (the largest need right now in the refugee camps) and some support for enhancing primary school education to prepare more kids for secondary school i.e.. improving the primary schools and adding a year of secondary school on to the primary schools every year, so the kids can advance. • Then we are creating a registry of items that the US high school students and others can fundraise in support of the school systems in Darfur. • Potential Registry Examples: • $15 for clothing for one student – Covers one full year • $50 for Textbooks for one kid - Covers one full year • $250 to train a teacher • $1,200 to provide a salary for a teacher • $1,500 for clean water for a school – covers one full year • $1,500 to equip a classroom • $4,500 to rehabilitate a classroom

• $13,000 to replace a temporary structure with a more solid school building, etc. NBA Players – Sister School Principals

The following players have been personally approached by Tracy McGrady about getting involved in the Sister School Initiative. Player commitment figures are still being compiled, but a target contribution of $50- $75K is expected and will be contractually agreed by the appropriate parties.

Stand Up for Darfur Week – Having a Principal Roster of 12 NBA Stars, the March 2-9 week would highlight various assets throughout the NBA to bring awareness to the fundraising and Darfur projects. This could entail NBA arenas at all games during the week to allow PSA’s shot by the players to be shown on in-arena vision. Additionally players would encourage fans to get involved learn more about the genocide and education needs in Darfur and what they can do to participate. This message would be supported with tables/kiosks in the concourses manned by volunteers who would distribute educational literature, sign up sheets, and contribution forms. • PSA’s – Having these messages voiced by NBA Stars and committed Principals, will provide a great deal of credibility for the efforts. We would like to secure dedicated time on NBATV, Regional Team Coverage, and In Theatre Advertising – all announcing NBA Darfur Week and Call to Action for FANS. A fundraising website in conjunction with NBA CARES or NBA.com would serve as the primary conduit for contributions, along with a media kit targeting key philanthropists and charitable organizations. EBAY AUCTION • EBAY in conjunction with Auction Cause will provide NBA Darfur Week with front page real estate on EBAY during the selected days (Avg. of 12 million visitors daily) The auction is designed to offer 4-6 Extremely Unique experiences for prequalified consumers to bid on. By pooling resources, these items will showcase one of a kind items from Entertainers, Athletes, and Events. Similar auctions in the past have generated up to $4 Million from Philanthropists and qualified bidders.

3. High School and University Initiative – As a follow up to the successful NBA Darfur Week campaign and subsequent launch of the Tracy McGrady film “Not A Game”.
