November 22, 2019 – Grammy-Nominated 98 Degrees, The Contact: Mike Traphagen [email protected] POP GROUP 98 DEGREES TO PERFORM AT CHUMASH CASINO RESORT SANTA YNEZ, CA – November 22, 2019 – Grammy-nominated 98 Degrees, the American pop and R&B group that rose to success in the late 1990s, will bring their U.S. tour to the Santa Ynez Valley at 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 at the Chumash Casino Resort’s Samala Showroom. Tickets for the show are $49, $59, $69, $74 and $79. The quartet of Ohio natives – brothers Nick and Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons – enjoyed a five-year stretch of success that made them one of the top boy bands of their era. Between 1997 and 2002, 98 Degrees sold 10 million records, scored a chart- topping single, “Thank God I Found You,” with Mariah Carey and Joe, and collaborated with their collective idol, Stevie Wonder, on “True to Your Heart,” for the 1998 animated Disney film, “Mulan.” Their 4 million-selling album, “98° and Rising,” spawned the Top 5 favorites “Because of You,” “I Do,” and “The Hardest Thing,” while 2000’s “Revelation,” which sold 2 million copies, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and yielded a trio of hits, “Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche),” “My Everything” and “The Way You Want Me To.” After a hiatus to pursue solo careers, the quartet regrouped in 2012 and released a full-length Christmas album, “Let It Snow,” in 2017. The critically acclaimed album featured the group's signature R&B-tinged, four-part harmonies and served as a follow up to their 1999 multi-platinum “This Christmas.” The success of the “Let It Snow” album led to a 36-city “98 Degrees at Christmas” tour in 2018, and the group’s resurgence fueled a national tour throughout 2019 labeled, “An Evening with 98 Degrees.” Don’t miss an opportunity to see these vocalists perform their hits live in one of the most popular music venues in Santa Barbara County. Located on Highway 246 in Santa Ynez, California, the Chumash Casino Resort is an age 21-and-older venue. Tickets for all events are available at The CLUB at Chumash or online at www.chumashcasino.com. .

  • The Case of the Broken Lock
THE CASE OF THE BROKEN LOCK Friday, May 23, 3:25 p.m. 29A Main Street, The Diner It was a hot and sunny day. The first hot and sunny day we’d had in Iona in nearly two weeks. The kind of hot and sunny that makes your shirt stick to your back. The kind of hot and sunny that makes the air thick and hard to breathe. The kind of hot and sunny that makes you daydream about running down to the river and jumping in with all your clothes on. All the other kids in Iona were outside, soaking up the heat like a bunch of lizards, but not me. I was inside, tucked into the rear booth of The Diner, where not even the rays of the sun could touch me, nursing a root beer float and trying to ignore my throbbing left eye as it swelled shut. The place was empty except for the owner, Moses, who was in the back clinking dishes together. Empty wasn’t unusual for The Diner, a place with no real name, set back a little from all the other stores on Main Street. But empty suited me just fine. I needed a little peace and quiet. That’s when Sandra Kutcher walked into my life. 9 The Adventures of Jack Lime © 2010 Written by James Leck www.kidscanpress.com JAMES LECK Sandra was a tall twelfth grader, with long blond hair pulled back in a ponytail. She was wearing a pink T-shirt that had “Doll” printed on it in sparkly letters, a white skirt and a pair of flip-flops that slapped her heels when she walked.

  • Estimating Training Data Influence by Tracing Gradient Descent
Estimating Training Data Influence by Tracing Gradient Descent Garima∗ Frederick Liu* Satyen Kale Google Google Google [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Mukund Sundararajan y Google [email protected] Abstract We introduce a method called TracIn that computes the influence of a training example on a prediction made by the model. The idea is to trace how the loss on the test point changes during the training process whenever the training example of interest was utilized. We provide a scalable implementation of TracIn via: (a) a first-order gradient approximation to the exact computation, (b) saved checkpoints of standard training procedures, and (c) cherry-picking layers of a deep neural network. In contrast with previously proposed methods, TracIn is simple to implement; all it needs is the ability to work with gradients, checkpoints, and loss functions. The method is general. It applies to any machine learning model trained using stochastic gradient descent or a variant of it, agnostic of architecture, domain and task. We expect the method to be widely useful within processes that study and improve training data. Code is available at [1]. 1 Motivation Deep learning has been used to solve a variety of real-world problems. A common form of machine learning is supervised learning, where the model is trained on labelled data. Controlling the training data input to the model is one of the main quality knobs to improve the quality of the deep learning model. For instance, such a technique could be used to identify and fix mislabelled data using the workflow described in Section 4.1.

  • Mark Wills, the Multi-Platinum Selling Country Star, Is Living the Newest Chapter in His Career with Newfound Passion, Energy, Joy, and Abandon
Mark Wills Biography Mark Wills, the multi-platinum selling country star, is living the newest chapter in his career with newfound passion, energy, joy, and abandon. “When people come to my shows, they're going to see a country boy having a lot of fun,” says the chart-topping performer. “More than anything else, I want to entertain people. My goal is to always make my show something that leaves people feeling happy. The band and I play everyone’s favorites from my past albums as well as songs from the new record 'Familiar Stranger' being released in November 2008.” "When performing in concert, music doesn't always need to be perfect and sterilized. It's that natural energy and emotion during a show that an audience connects with that makes live shows so exciting. That's the philosophy I took into the recording studio this time when recording my new record. We brought some of the country's most talented and aggressive players into the studio to create a ‘live’ sound. I wanted the record to feel like my live show. Like a real band just having fun and connecting with our audience. The new record is me and the guys in the studio recording LIVE...the way records used to be made. We just rehearsed the songs and rolled the tape and boy you can hear and feel the energy in every track. " The robust new Mark Wills sound is on vivid display in the hurricane-strength party rocker “Panama City.” You can also find it in the eccentric lyrics of “Hank,” which is built on the premise that the music of Hank Williams can bring us all together, no matter what our cultural or political differences.

June 16, 2008 Issue 94 How’s Your Gold Powered? Owen Accepts NAB Honor For Country Cares Perhaps the best time to find finely tuned and pruned Power Gold categories is during the spring book, when the results of all those Auditorium Music Tests are in place. Panning for bullion, we dug into Mediabase to find the shiniest nuggets from three eras -- 2000-2006, 1994-1999 and 1980’s-1993. We do so with the caveat that everyone separates the PG from Recurrents a little differently. For our purposes, we (pretty much) call everything that peaked on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart prior to Jan. 2007 as Gold – with the top performers getting the PG designation. Here are the Top 10 for each era – and you can mine the remaining Top 50 for each period on Page 6. Power Gold 2000-2006 1. KEITH URBAN/Somebody Like You 2. RASCAL FLATTS/Life Is A Highway 3.
