To: Key Largo Wastewater Treatment District Customers

The Key Largo Wastewater Treatment District's Board of Commissioners approved a 15% reduction of the monthly wastewater billing rates at the December 10, 2019 Board meeting. Customers will begin seeing the lower rates on January bills for December's water usage. Reducing the wastewater billing rates is a Board priority.

The $33.60 per EDU Base Charge is now $28.56. The $5.27 per 1,000 gallons Volumetric Charge is now $4.48.

Going forward, the Board continues efforts to accomplish early debt elimination six years ahead of schedule, harden assets, reduce our carbon footprint and increase the efficiency of the District's operations.

Projects currently underway are:

• Installation of solar arrays to create clean energy, reduce electric and chemical expenses. Solar projects are projected to save approximately $5.4 million dollars over the life of the assets.

• Installation of fire detection and suppression systems to protect District assets and reduce insurance costs.

• Reuse water pilot project
