Un bac reliait Rochecorbon à La Ville- aux-Dames depuis la fin du XVIIIe siècle (mention en 1788) jusqu'en 1922 au moins (modification du tarif du passage). D'après le cadastre napoléonien de 1817 et la carte de Coumes de 1848, le bac partait du lieudit Vauvert et abordait sur l'île de Rochecorbon qui touchait alors quasiment la rive gauche. En 1845, les ingénieurs projettent d'améliorer les abords du bac de Rochecorbon car il est difficilement abordable. Le cadastre napoléonien figure également une ancienne auberge située un peu en aval du lieudit les Bâtonneries, à proximité du passage du bac ainsi que deux cales situées aux lieudits la Tesserie et Mont-Guerre. En face de Rochecorbon, il y avait en 1819 un emplacement utilisé par les mariniers pour garer et abriter leurs bateaux par temps de glaces.

THE WINE The Chenin blanc grape variety, harvested gently, sublimated by the chalk soil, and left to mature in our tufa galleries for more than eighteen months, expresses a very nice aromatic complexity and a rare elegance.
